Saksham Theatre Group, one of Delhi's most Active theatre group is conducting Summer Theatre Workshop for different age group at Poorva Sanskritik Kendra, (PSK)’ Laxmi Nagar.

Age Group : 6-12 years

Duration : Three Weeks

Venue : Poorva Sanskritik Kendra, (PSK);Laxmi Nagar

Registration fee Rs. 2500/-

Activities of the workshop:-

Fun of acting, creating a play , Storytelling, Theatre games , Creative writing, Basic yoga, Mime and movement, Public speaking, family participation, Confidence Building, Improvisation, Personality development ,facing an audience.

Greetings from the Group,

A Brief Note on our Theatre Group,

Theatre is the sum total of the minutest action done by an individual in his daily life. As an organized effort to connect masses with art, Saksham seeks to plunge into the ocean of Indian culture & bring out gems in the form of Theatrical Expressions. Accretion of professionals, amateurs and Theatre enthusiasts, SAKSHAM THEATRE GROUP is endeavoring to present the reflections of life in Theatrical idiom.

Saksham Theatre Group was established by an inspired team of the Drama professionals with an aim to create an environment that appreciates and encourages theatre. In a very short span of time Saksham has earned reputation in Hindi theatre circles by staging plays addressing various social and political issues while not loosing mass appeal.

The group takes up contemporary issues to underline the contours of our time while providing the best entertainment. So far the group has 60 stage production and many street plays production addressing various sensitive and important social issues.

In addition to producing plays, saksham has played a vital role in expanding and mobilizing theatre activities. The group has conducted theatre workshops for schools and colleges. Saksham has always been very keen to perform meaningful theatre in various forms. Saksham wants to reach out to the people and unfold to them the warmth, the excitement and the magic of theatre, thus contributing to society in its own unique way as we believe that an actor is born to serve the mankind.

Saksham has put to life on stage works of many eminent play rights like Friedrich Durrenmatt’s ‘The Physicist’, Dario Fo’s’ Can’t pay Won’t Pay’, Saadat Hasan Manto’s Manto Ke Natak’, Nag Bodas’Thankyou Baba Lochandas’, Sharad Joshi’s ‘Janaza’ and ‘Andhon Ka Haathi’. Saksham has always performed plays that are politically and socially relevant and have a distinct style of their own.

Director’s profile

Professionally Sunil Rawat is a qualified software engineer. By passion he is qualified to dream big and contribute positively and continuously in the field of Theatre. He heads the Delhi based theatre group SAKSHAM and is committed to innovative and socially relevant theatre. He has explored all fields of theatre and stage production as an actor while working with various theatre directors. His plays addressing various sensitive and important social issues, even through musicals and comedy productions. While on his mission to contribute positively in the arena of theatre, he has trained many actors in various workshops under the Theatre group he began.

He has conducted various theatre workshop for children in schools and slums as well as street theatre performances.

He acted in various plays like Court marital, Mote Ram ka Satyagrah, Log Baag, Final Solution, Amma Tujhe Salam, Rakt Kalyan, Accidental death of an anarchist, Mrigtrishna (Manto Ke Natak), Unsuni, Yam Gatha and many more. He also took part in various theatre festivals.
